Dachshundcon 2025
Dachshundcon 2025
July 18-20, 2025
After a long hiatus, the world’s smallest (probably?) gaming convention is back!
You are invited to three days (or as much as you care to partake) of gaming at our house near Renton, WA.
More board games than some game cafes!
I have been obsessively researching, collecting, and curating a board game collection for well over a decade. It currently contains 430+ titles, including several that are out of print, hard to find, or deluxe editions. Let my madness be your gain!
Whether you want to go with the flow and play what other people are playing, want to seek out particular genres/themes/styles to play, or settle on your own micro challenge of only playing games by a particular designer, only playing co-ops, or only playing games with a particular setting all weekend, Dachshundcon is flexible.
The point is to get together, hang out, and play some games…what that means to you is up to you!
(The Average Weight refers to how thinky/complex a game is and ranges from 1 (light and breezy) to 5 (melts your brain))
Mask on!
COVID, as much as we’d all like it not to be, is still very much a thing. Invitees to Dachshundcon include people who have weakened immune systems or are close to people who are. Additionally, some attendees may be travelling from out of town and braving the petri dish that is air travel.
To help ensure equal, safe access, we will be asking that all attendees mask at all times within our house except when nibbling snacks in the kitchen (which will have the sliding door and window open for increased safety).
We will have surgical masks available for those who forgot/don’t have a mask handy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I just come for just a day?
A: Friend, you can come for just a minute (seems like a waste of time, but you do you). It would be helpful to have a rough idea of your attendance plans for the weekend, but we recognize that not everybody is up for three full days of gaming. Feel free to participate at the level and amount of time that works for you.
Q: What will the food situation be like?
A: We will be providing a selection of drinks and snacks, but everyone is welcome to bring anything they’d like to share (we do ask that you include the ingredients list). Beyond that, food will not be provided. Anyone is welcome to leave and come back at any time to take care of meals…we may also organize expeditions to local restaurants or delivery orders if there is enough interest in the moment.
Q: What should I bring?
Yourself
A mask
(though we will have extras)
Optional:
A guest if you’d like
(please let us know ahead of time and explain the mask situation)Cash
(if you’d like to participate in group food delivery orders)Board game(s) you’d like to play
(Obviously we have plenty here, but if there’s one you want to play that we don’t (I have no party games or social deduction games), you’re welcome to bring it!)
Q: Will anyone be able to stay with you?
A: Because our home is tiny and where the convention itself will be happening, we cannot offer people a place to stay. We can recommend a nearby hotel.
Q: Are you serious about the mask thing?
A: Yes, we are serious about the mask thing.
